Boutique Hotels in Maryland

Maryland is a state that has everything I love. There are miles of beach, cosmopolitan cities, great seafood, and a bit of history too.

I love heading to the beaches of Maryland in September and October when the chill has set in in New York. It’s still balmy beach weather below the Mason Dixon.

It’s great place to enjoy a nice relaxing weekend getaway and feel like summer isn’t over yet. There are tons of cute, boutique hotels throughout the state which make the weekend feel like a true escape. Here’s where I’d love to stay.

Laid Back Oceanfront Views

Ocean City is a great little beach town with so much to do. I love spending weekends here in the falls and enjoying the lower hotel prices, the quieter beaches, and all the seafood and cocktails. Tidelands Caribbean Hotel and Suites is located right along the boardwalk with rooms that face the ocean. Rooms have kitchenette so that you can self-cater. There’s an on-site bar and frozen yogurt shop and it’s an incredibly short walk to the beach.

Budget Stay Near the Beach

The Sea Bay Hotel is a great option if you want to enjoy all there is to do in Ocean City, whether it’s one of the theme parks, a bit of mini golf, or simply lounging on the sand. The hotel gives you access to all of this without the hefty price tag of an oceanfront hotel. Only a block from the beach, this place has an outdoor pool, free parking, and a 24 hour cafĂ©. Book a room with a view of the bay and enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony each day.

Modern Design in Downtown Annapolis

The Loews Annapolis Hotel is a beautiful hotel with chic and modern decor throughout. The rooms have big plush beds, plenty of natural light, and doeskin bathrobes that will make you want to lounge inside all day long. It’s centrally located near tons of restaurants and bars, but if you’d rather stay in, the hotel has its own restaurant and pub on-site. It’s a short distance from the city dock where you can take a tour of the city by boat or head for a game at the Naval Academy.

Luxury for Less in Central Annapolis

Annapolis is a city surrounded on almost all sides by water, so getting out on it is a must when you visit. The O’Callaghan Annapolis Hotel is located right downtown and only minutes from the Severn River. It’s one of the most budget-friendly hotels in the city’s center, allowing plenty of leftover money to enjoy the restaurants, museums, and pubs in the surrounding area. There’s an on-site bar and restaurant as well as 24-hour room service in case you get hungry after midnight. There’s a gym and business center, and free Wi-Fi in every room. It’s everything you need in a hotel without having to splurge too much.
