Boutique Hotels in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is an exciting state with loads to see. Whether it’s a hike in the mountains, a city scene with top restaurants, or historical sites to explore, you’ll find it all in the Keystone State.

As a kid, my parents would take my brothers and I on weekend trips to Philadelphia for a history lesson and a few cheese steaks. It wasn’t until I got older that I realized how much more there is to see and do in the rest of the state. There are cute small towns, bustling cities (and not just Philly), and an abundance of state parks.

While researching places to visit in the state, I was struck by how many beautiful, chic boutique hotels there are. When I book my next trip, I’ll definitely be staying in one of these.

A Unique Stay in Buck’s County

The Inn of the Dove in Bensalem immediately caught my attention. For about $300 a night, you can have a suite with your own private swimming pool. Bensalem is right in the middle of Buck’s Country–a wonderful suburban area with miles of bike paths and beautiful parks. There are theme rooms that feel like they’ve been plucked out of Vegas or Atlantic City, but there’s something I like about that. It’s over the top and unapologetic. I think it would be a really fun place to spend a few nights.

Top Views of Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh isn’t a city I thought I would pine to visit, but the city has started to emerge as an artistic and interesting place to explore. The Fairmont Pittsburgh is right in the middle of the city. A stunning glass high-rise, the hotel offers rooms with awesome views of the city. It’s right along the Ohio River and surrounded by tons of restaurants and bars. When you’re not in the mood to explore, the hotel has a health club, sauna, and full service spa available.

Modern Amenities Close to Philadelphia

The DoubleTree by Hilton is well located for enjoying Philadelphia as well as the surrounding suburbs. It’s only 30 minutes from the airport and within 20 miles of central Philly. It’s close to the biggest mall in the country, which is worth a visit even if only to say that you’ve seen it. The hotel itself has big rooms, plush beds, and plenty of free parking. There’s an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and two restaurants to dine in if you don’t feel like exploring the area by night.

Luxury Lodge in the Poconos

I’m in love with the Mount Airy Casino and Resort. It has everything you could want to enjoy a pampered weekend away. There’s a spa, pool and poolside bar, casino, and three restaurants all on site. There’s even a candy shop and yogurt café to grab some snacks throughout the day. The rooms are huge with big comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms with giant Jacuzzi tubs, and leather chairs for lounging.

Historical Architecture in Pittsburgh

Located in the Cultural District, the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel is the perfect mixture of historical architecture and modern design. Opt for a room with river views to look out at each evening. The hotel has a top class brassiere for evening meals, and it is well located for enjoying the ballet, opera, or symphony orchestra.

Pennsylvania is packed with so many activities that it’s hard to decide where to head first!
